As a school leader, Nate McClennen was intrigued by the massive efforts to understand teacher excellence. While glimmers of hope have appeared, the goal remains elusive. Fundamentally, research supports a solution centered on teachers watching and learning from each other - akin to the power of Lesson Study in Japan.

In the spring of 2014, Nate paired up with Bradley Krugh, a technology veteran, to implement a global technology solution to connect excellent teachers from around the world with actual classroom video. This is ImproveClass. Focused on simplicity, teacher growth, and crowdsourcing, ImproveClass seeks to create a collaborative global culture of sharing and learning within a professional network of teachers.
